The Central Government has proposed to implement Digital Tag consisting 6 letters and one number for every building, similar to Aadhaar for every person. On a trial basis the government has started the process of giving Digital tag to 2 pin code areas in Delhi and one pin code area in Noida. The system will be extended to other regions eventually, reported from a source.
With the help of Postal Department and with the collaboration of a private company Map My India, the Digital Tag will be implemented. The help of ISRO will also be sought. Map My India has said it already has the data for e-locations of 2 crore persons, business and government offices. The Digital tags will be called e-locations. Consumers can link property ownership, power, water and gas connections to this e-location.
The Digital Tag can be published on the visiting cards and websites. Can be shared on WhatsApp and can be given to anybody. Anybody desiring to reach out can just look up in the Map My India website or look into the app can directly reach your place. This will help finding addresses easy and saves on time, energy, fuel and time.
This will also help the government in future to formulate new projects.
