Bhubaneswar: Union Minister Dharmendra Pradhan will be launching the commencement of Piped Natural Gas (PNG) under Urja Ganga gas pipeline project on October 20. A total of 255 residents in Nalco Nagar will be getting the environment friendly fuel in the first phase.
The supply which will start almost six months before the initial deadline set in March 2018, GAIL India, which has termed PNG as ‘Happy Fuel’ said the step will help in reducing fuel exports and there will be no hassles of booking and storage since the fuel will be continuously supplied through pipes. The payment will be done on usage basis through meter reading.
Besides, four CNG stations are also under construction. A pilot project will begin in Cuttack by March next year.
GAIL India has also planned to construct a Natural Gas Pipeline of about 769 km length covering 13 districts. The Pipeline will be constructed with an initial investment of Rs 4000 crores.
