India, on Monday, successfully conducted the twin trial of nuclear capable Prithvi II missile from launch pad 3 off Integrated Test Range in Chandipur. The test fire was conducted at around 9:35AM this morning. The missile has a strike range of 350kms and can carry payload between 500 to 1000kgs. The user trial of the missile, which was inducted into the defence forces in 2003, was conducted in May this year. The missile is the first one to be developed under Integrated Guided Missile Development Programme.
