Bhubaneswar: In an interesting incident on Tuesday , the Mancheswar Police arrested two ganja traders and seized 35 kgs of contraband from their possessions after a Bollywood style car chase on the Bhubaneswar – Puri Bypass Road at Pandara here.
Sources said the cops were left speechless, when they found among the two accused was a Bengali beauty.
Later, speaking to the Media, city DCP Satyabrata Bhoi said the two arrestees have been running a ganja racket. The police had earlier received a tip off that ganja would be transported on this road and were laying in wait.
When they spotted a suspicious vehicle they asked it to stop . But it managed to give a slip to them and tried to flee from the spot. But they chased it and intercepted it near Pandara.
The two accused have been identified as Neha Haldar and Prasant Sahu. A case has been filed under the NDPS Act and both has been forwarded to court.
However, what has come to light that now the ganja traders have found a innovative way to transport contraband under the nose of police and other enforcement agencies without raising any eyebrows.
Earlier hordes of Bengali girls were brought from Kolkata and other places in West Bengal and engaged in the sex rackets operating in the State capital.
