Bhubaneswar: Tension prevailed at Ramadevi Women’s College after cash was seen in circulation, being distributed among students to vote in the Students’ Union Election here on Saturday.
A group of students alleged that Rs 500 along with a bouquet of roses was being distributed among students to vote for candidates of a political party and the photograph of the incident has also gone viral on social media.
Students alleged that the cash was being distributed by the activists of Biju Chhatra Janata Dal (BCJD) which sparked off tension outside the campus for quite some time.
“Some of our students have clicked pictures when cash along with roses were being distributed by BCJD. When we opposed, the activists and some ex-students of the party threatened us,” said a student.
However, BCJD has refuted allegations of cash distributed to students at Ramadevi Women’s University. Read more
