NEW DELHI: Several coaches of the Puri-Haridwar-Kalinga Utkal Express derailed in Muzaffarnagar’s Khatauli on Saturday.
According to reports, two people have been killed and at least a dozen passengers injured in the accident. More casualites are feared.
“An inquiry has been ordered to ascertain the cause of the accident. Strict action will be taken against any lapse,” railway minister Suresh Prabhu said.
“Medical vans have been rushed to the site. All efforts are being taken to ensure speedy relief and rescue operations,” Prabhu tweeted from his official handle.
